u03a1 Inquiry Based insights
What caught my attention during this week's readings and assignments is that inquiry can take on a variety of forms in the classroom and that there is no ONE right way to teach inquiry. I like that the reading referred to it as a "fluid continuum." Approaching inquiry based learning with the approach that you can fluidly slide from one spot to another is a helpful approach. As long as the chosen approach corresponds with your learning objects and student's needs, that's what's important.
I also really liked the characteristics of each type of inquiry in relation to teacher, student and teacher-student directed inquiry. It was nicely outlined and made me really understand what each approach looks like in the classroom.
